About The Position

Semmes Murphey Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join an established neurology practice. The role supports patients and families by helping provide quality care, access to treatments and medications, and coordination among their care teams. Most patient interactions take place by phone. The nurse is a primary contact for clinical or symptom-related questions and helps patients access medications and treatments.

This is a full-time, onsite position with approximate hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There are no scheduled weekends or nights.

Requirements

• Nursing program certificate from an accredited college or university.
• At least one year of experience as a registered nurse.
• Current state nursing license.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to work with focused concentration and comprehend and interpret verbal orders and directions.
• Ability to make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in positive and negative situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and medical practice software.
• Knowledge of data-entry and coding software.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• BSN degree.
• Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for patients’ clinical or symptom-related questions, primarily by phone.
• Help patients access medications and treatments.
• Help bridge communication and coordination among patients’ care teams.
• Provide excellent customer service, including when managing difficult or emotional situations.
