About The Position

Washington Regional is seeking a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider to join the Washington Regional J.B. Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute in Northwest Arkansas. This position is outpatient clinic only. The Nurse Practitioner evaluates and diagnoses patients, orders and performs diagnostic tests, determines and manages treatment, prescribes and dispenses medications, maintains patient records, educates patients and families, coordinates referrals, and keeps current with medical research and trends while supporting research projects.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license.
• CPR certification.
• National certification.
• At least 3 years of experience in a previous clinical nursing role.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in Vascular Neurology.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations to evaluate patients’ health and diagnose illnesses.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory tests.
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, adjusting it when necessary.
• Prescribe and dispense medications.
• Document patient medical information and maintain electronic medical records.
• Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families about health problems, treatment plans, and home care; encourage preventive care and positive health behaviors.
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics.
• Maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects.
