About The Position

The Clinic Medical Assistant provides direct or indirect care, consistent with the applicable state Nurse Practice Act, to patients with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems, as well as patients receiving preventive care. Services include general patient care, assistance with procedures, documentation of activities, and patient and family education. Care must follow established principles and ethical standards, along with Deaconess policies and procedures. The role serves Endocrinology and Neurology phones at Deaconess Multi-Specialty Clinic in Henderson, Kentucky.

Requirements

• Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current certification or license in one of the listed categories: Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA); Registered Medical Assistant (AMT); Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA); National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT); Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP); Registered Medical Assistant (American Allied Health); Certified Medical Assistant Clinical (AMCA); active LPN license in the state of employment; or active RN license in the state of employment.

• Experience is preferred but not required.
