About The Position

The Clinic Nurse Manager will be performing duties in accordance with the philosophy and standards of North East Medical Services and provides leadership, direction and guidance to RN Team Leaders, Clinic Nurse Educator, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Medical Assistants. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervises and provides direction for RN Team Leaders, Clinic Nurse Educator, LVNs and Medical Assistants to ensure that effective patient services are provided and quality standards are met. Supervises and participates in the provision of general nursing care services, including patient teaching. Works closely with RN team leaders to promote the smooth operation of the clinic teams. Develops and implements departmental goals annually. Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained. Provides in-service training to nursing staff. Delegates responsibilities appropriate to licensure, education, and experience of staff. Evaluates performance of RN team leads through the review of completed work assignments, job knowledge and skills to assigned staff. Prepares and participates in health plan and program audits, and implements corrective actions. Makes appropriate referrals to other departments within the agency as well as to outside community agencies. Uses EPIC system effectively to document patient care. Involved in risk management and performance improvement with the Medical Director and Administration including responding to grievance reports. Coordinates with RN Team Leaders to ensure adequate nursing staff coverage to match medical providers’ needs. Organizes monthly nursing department and nurse team leader meetings to promote communication. Coordinates and monitors all special programs, such as CDP, PACT, CPSP and DPH vaccine program. Ensures availability and operation of necessary equipment and supplies for patient care. Be prepared to solve any unresolved problems and be troubleshooter. Provides direct supervision of a department involving responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and personnel. Responsible for carrying out supervisory/managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring of employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing program.
  • Bachelor’s degree or two years related worked experience.
  • Minimum of two years recent acute care experience as an RN.
  • Current California Registered Nurse License.
  • Demonstrated skills in supervision, leadership, and communication.
  • Willingness to work with para-professional and non-medical personnel.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
  • Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent experience in a clinic or out-patient setting desirable.
  • Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), Vietnamese, Spanish and other languages may be required depending on location.
  • Fluency in other languages are an asset.
