About The Position

The David L. MacIntosh Sport Medicine Clinic services students and other members of the university and public, including intercollegiate and international-caliber athletes. The staff provides preventive and therapeutic sport medicine services in the clinic and at athletic events. The multidisciplinary team includes athletic therapists, physical therapists, massage therapists, sport physicians, orthopedic surgeons, a registered dietician, sport psychiatrist, sport psychotherapist, clinic administrative assistants, casual receptionists, and a clinic manager. The Clinic Manager, under the general direction of the Medical Director, is an integral member of the clinic's leadership team. They will lead in ensuring administrative policies are in place and followed to support the effective and efficient operation of the Clinic, focusing on Clinic Operations and Service Quality Management, Financial Management (including budget management), Human Resource Management, and Interface Management.

Requirements

  • Relevant university degree, or equivalent in education or experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ progressively senior clinic management experience, preferably in a sport medicine clinic.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising the work of others, providing leadership, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Experience managing budgets and statistical data.
  • Strong customer services experience, with a focus on service excellence.
  • Experience with an EMR required.
  • Experience and demonstrated commitment to equity and diversity in an educational sport and recreation environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, work collaboratively and implement strategies to find the best approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to and manage changing priorities.
  • Experience leading change management processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in health care administration or similar field.
  • Post-graduate education or continuing education in administration, human resources, statistics, and financial management.
  • Experience with Ontario Health and/or other health care agencies.
