About The Position

This role involves both administrative and clinical duties within a healthcare setting. Administrative tasks may include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry into medical records. Clinical duties encompass measuring and recording vital signs, collecting patient demographics and medical information (including medication lists), preparing patients for examinations, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. A key responsibility for both MA III and LPN roles is the administration of medications as ordered. The MA III position requires graduation from or completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, medication administration basics, and a clinical externship. The LPN position requires graduation from a state board accredited practical nursing program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (for MA III)
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (for MA III, effective 9/1/20)
  • Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program (for LPN)
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri (for LPN)
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP (for MA III)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider or as directed by supervisors.
  • Proficient Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people (for MA III)
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting (for MA III)
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting (for LPN)
  • IV certification in State of Missouri (for LPN)
