About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Clinic LPN/Medical Assistant III for their Ozark Super Clinic. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties. Administrative tasks include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry. Clinical duties encompass measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, stocking supplies, and administering medications. The position requires adherence to departmental competencies and direct supervision or oversight from a provider or supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • For MA III: Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (required effective 9/1/20).
  • For LPN: Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider or as directed by supervisors or with provider oversight.
  • Proficient Computer skills.
  • For MA III: Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
  • For LPN: Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people (MA III).
  • Previous experience in a health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting (MA III).
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting (LPN).
  • IV certification in State of Missouri (LPN).

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records.

  • Collect demographics and medical information, including reviewing medication lists.
  • Prepare patients for examination.
  • Clean rooms and equipment.
