About The Position

This role involves both administrative and clinical duties within a pediatric clinic setting. The Medical Assistant III (MA III) performs administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry. Clinical responsibilities include taking vital signs, collecting patient information (including medication history), preparing patients for exams, cleaning rooms, stocking supplies, and administering medications under supervision. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) also handles administrative duties like phone calls, scheduling, and data entry, alongside clinical tasks such as vital signs, patient information collection, exam preparation, room cleaning, supply stocking, and medication administration as ordered by a physician. Both roles require performing specific competencies as directed by the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (for MA III).
  • No previous experience required for MA III.
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP (for MA III).
  • Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program (for LPN).
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri (for LPN).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider or as directed by supervisors.
  • Proficient Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people (for MA III).
  • Previous experience in a health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting (for MA III).
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting (for LPN).
  • IV certification in State of Missouri (for LPN).

Responsibilities
