In addition to general pediatric care, caregivers also have special interests in a number of childhood-related developmental issues, conditions and diseases. As an LPN on this pediatrics team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing this exceptional, top-quality care. Some of your daily responsibilities will include rooming patients, processing in-basket items, administrative tasks, and more. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide professional nursing care to patients. Administer medication. Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files. Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions. Implement pain management assessments and documentation. Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician. Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO. Follow Code Blue protocol.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Program
  • Current Florida licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of Infection Control Practices
  • Experience with technology
  • Computer literacy
  • This position requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of car in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
