About The Position

This role involves performing both administrative and clinical duties. Administrative tasks may include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information (including medication list review), preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. The position also involves the administration of medications as ordered by a physician. The LPN performs specific competencies as directed by the department, while the MA III performs duties under the direct supervision of a supervisor or provider.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (MA III)
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (MA III, required effective 9/1/20)
  • None (MA III Experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider (MA III)
  • Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversite (LPN)
  • Proficient Computer skills
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP (MA III)
  • Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program (LPN)
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri (LPN)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people (MA III)
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting (MA III)
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting (LPN)
  • IV certification in State of Missouri (LPN)
