About The Position

The Clinic Assistant acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team, helping provide continuity and quality in patient care. The role initiates patient care, gathers vital signs, prepares patients and exam rooms for procedures, and collects specimens. The assistant provides patient education and support as needed to assist physicians, patients, and families, and assists coworkers with drawing blood as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
BLS certification must be received within the orientation period.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequently and quickly prioritizing and changing tasks.
Ability to use a computer, fax machine, and copy machine.
Detail-oriented and able to work well in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a certified medical assistant program, the Huntsville Hospital Patient Care Tech program, or CNA training.
CNA or LPN certification.
Phlebotomy experience.
At least one year of experience working in a clinic setting.
