About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This is a Registered Nurse position in the Float Pool at Parkwest Medical Center, with a full-time schedule of 80 hours per pay period on the day shift.

Requirements

• At least one year of professional nursing experience.
• Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN licensure.
• CPR required.
• Education must be sufficient to meet the standards for the required license and/or certification; no minimum education level is specified.

Responsibilities

• Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care or nursing home care.
• Assesses the learning needs of patients and families.
• Develops and initiates plans of care involving patients and families.
• Recommends interventions.
• Evaluates plans of care.
• Resolves moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.
• Demonstrates willingness to precept employees and students as directed, and reviews preceptee clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
• Demonstrates competence in critical skills, including appropriate care delivery according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards; completes required annual education assignments; works toward goals and objectives; and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
