About The Position

The CAS Supervisor is second in charge of the Client Accounting Services department and is primarily responsible for managing the internal operations, people development, processes, and workflow of the department. This role ensures that the CAS team is trained, supported, and operating efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness. The CAS Supervisor serves as a hands-on leader, reviewer, and coach, while also carrying their own client load and supporting department leadership through process development and execution.

Requirements

  • Must have experience managing, developing, and training staff.
  • Must have experience creating, documenting, and training staff on internal processes and standards.
  • Must have experience serving as a lead reviewer for financial statements, DORs, and payroll deliverables.
  • Must have experience serving as a point of contact for assigned clients and meeting individual billable hour targets.
  • Must have experience reviewing client deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to firm standards.
  • Must have experience responding to escalated client and project issues.
  • Must have experience driving consistency, efficiency, and quality across all processes.
  • Must have experience assisting with higher-level departmental projects.
  • Must have experience collaborating with managers on continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the internal day-to-day operations of the CAS department.
  • Run weekly CAS staff meetings and maintain consistent departmental communication.
  • Lead regular 1:1 meetings with staff to provide coaching, feedback, and development support.
  • Manage staff workloads and capacity; make recommendations to the CAS Manager for reallocation as needed.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate appropriate training plans.
  • Substantially involved in the management, development, and training of CAS staff.
  • Create, document, and train staff on internal CAS processes and standards for all deliverables.
  • Prepare staff for monthly In-Charge meetings and run those meetings.
  • Serve as lead Reviewer for the CAS team; potentially build and train a dedicated review team for: Quarterly financials, Financial statements, DORs, Payroll deliverables.
  • Serve as point of contact for assigned clients and meet individual billable hour targets.
  • Review client deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to firm standards.
  • Respond to escalated client and project issues; loop in CAS Manager when issues rise above scope or risk level.
  • Drive consistency, efficiency, and quality across all CAS processes.
  • Assist with higher-level departmental projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with CAS Manager on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with CAS Manager, In-Charges, and cross-functional teams.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, confidentiality, information security best practices and firm values in all interactions.
  • This position will directly supervise others and is responsible for the development and training of their direct reports.
