This is a professional support position providing client access and engagement functions in a multifaceted office environment. The Client Access & Engagement Representative serves as an initial point of entry for agency programs and provides reception, telephone support, service navigation, appointment scheduling, coordination of multiple client services, collection and routing of initial assessment paperwork, insurance verification, copayment and coinsurance collection, and data entry. The Client Access & Engagement Representative provides timely, equitable, person-centered, family-centered, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and confidential assistance to clients and other providers by telephone and in person. The position helps clients understand and navigate available behavioral health, substance use, psychiatric, medical, peer-support, and community-based services; identifies and communicates barriers to access; supports coordinated referrals and service transitions; recognizes potential crisis or emergency situations and promptly routes them to appropriate personnel; and maintains accurate information needed for operations, quality measurement, and CCBHC certification readiness. This is an office-based, direct-contact position and does not independently perform clinical screening, risk assessment, treatment planning, or care management. Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living team members must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people we serve during emergencies, pandemics, or other disaster situations.
