About The Position

The PreK Clerk provides clerical assistance to On-Track PreK Campus staff. Performs general clerical duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or One to three months related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Proficient in written and oral English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Maintains emotional control under stress.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a program receptionist.
  • Distributes daily mail.
  • Maintains departmental supplies.
  • Makes requests to PreK Coordinator/On Site Instructional Specialist as needed for replacement items.
  • Maintains documentation on employee absences and tardiness.
  • Acts as a liaison with substitutes coming to work in the program.
  • Acts as a liaison with district departments at the direction of the PreK Site Instructional Specialist.
  • Maintains program databases for student attendance, assessment, inventory, etc.
  • Assists staff in developing and copying materials.
  • Maintains student health cards.
  • Contacts parents as requested by program staff.
  • Enters approved purchase requisitions to generate purchase orders.
  • Prepares invoices, etc. for payment and submits to PreK Coordinator/Federal Programs staff for processing.
  • Receives and distributes materials.
  • Uses time effectively; is punctual and dependable in attendance.
  • Establishes and maintains a congenial and cooperative working relationship with all staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
