The Clerk's Office of the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit, is looking for a smart, hard-working person interested in an entry-level position into the legal and judicial system of Louisiana. As an Assistant Clerk, you will interact with the appellate judges and the attorneys of the court, process filings in both appeals and writ applications, and be trained in legal appellate processes and procedures. You will also be called on to answer questions from attorneys throughout the state and the general public. If you have prior experience in a clerk's office, or as a paralegal, or are looking to get your start in the legal field, this is a multi-skilled entry-level opportunity for you. On a daily basis, the pace of the work will push you to hone your triage skills and test your computer, data entry, scanning, and organizing skills.
