About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is hiring an Inventory Control Clerk (Shipping/Receiving) at its Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. The role supports factory operations by receiving, stocking, and delivering parts and supplies, transporting materials physically, and maintaining electronic and hard-copy records. The team maintains inventory of parts, materials, and supplies for 24x7 operations. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The employee will train and operate in both shipping/receiving and an inventory warehouse. Duties include receiving and stocking parts and raw materials, fulfilling internal requests, maintaining inventory records, cycle counting spare parts, tracking raw materials such as gases and chemicals, and preparing product shipments. The role also coordinates with Supply Management to expedite parts for down equipment, reorder low-stock items, and arrange repair-part shipments. This is a safety-sensitive position and is not eligible for Microchip immigration sponsorship. Travel is listed as 0%–25%.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of work experience.
Customer-service orientation.
Ability to work well with others and independently.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with MS Office software.
Data-entry experience.
Valid driver's license to transport material to an off-site warehouse as needed.
Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and repetitive-motion tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.

Warehouse, stores, shipping, or receiving experience in a manufacturing setting.
Baan/ERP system experience.

Responsibilities

Train and operate in both shipping/receiving and an inventory warehouse.
Receive and stock parts and raw materials according to established procedures.
Pull parts and raw materials from stock and deliver them to internal customers according to established procedures, including FIFO.
Find and follow procedures in the specification database and training guide.
Cycle count inventory of spare parts.
Inventory raw materials, including gases and chemicals.
Update or modify spare-part and raw-material information.
Process and review inventory purchase orders (PIOs) for accuracy and need.
Complete computer entries and documentation accurately to track inventory.
Operate lifting devices such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Prepare product shipments.
Coordinate with Supply Management to expedite parts for down equipment, reorder low stock, and arrange repair-part shipments.
