About The Position

The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging Transportation Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Clerk 2 position in Honesdale, PA. This role offers an opportunity to expand administrative skills in a public service environment, supporting services that enhance the lives of community members. The position involves managing consumer intake, reservations, records, and communication for the transportation department. It requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

Minimum of six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or Completion of a high school business curriculum; or Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.
Meet the PA residency requirement.
Ability to perform essential job functions.
Pass a background investigation.
Pass a drug screening (conditional offer of employment).
Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance (conditional offer of employment, due to Child Protective Services Law provisions).

Responsibilities

Handle intake duties and update consumer registrations.
Assist consumers with required forms.
Take trip reservations by phone and enter accurate trip information into the computer system.
Verify geo-codes and maintain consumer files.
Check reimbursement requests for correctness.
Direct drivers and monitor vehicle locations.
Assist with daily scheduling and driver logs.
Provide clear information to consumers, drivers, staff, and the public.
Follow transportation laws, policies, and procedures, especially during incidents or accidents.
