About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a Clerical Support Associate to join their Fracture Clinic. Humber River Health, North America's first fully digital hospital since 2015, is dedicated to transforming healthcare through technology and clinical expertise. They serve a community of 850,000 residents in North West Toronto, with a strong focus on equity, inclusivity, and community connection. The organization is affiliated with the University of Toronto and Queen’s University, aiming to become a community academic hospital. This role is crucial in supporting the clinic's operations and patient processing, contributing to their journey towards high reliability care.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Minimum of one-year full time recent clerical experience required, preferably in an out-patient health care setting.
  • Computer skills required, keyboarding 40 wpm required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload and work with tight deadlines, frequent interruptions, and emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed secretarial and medical terminology courses preferred.
  • Meditech computer experience is preferred.
  • Community-wide scheduling experience is preferred.
  • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent reception/customer service, patient processing and maintenance of patient records.
  • Registration of patients to the out-patient services.
  • Booking/editing of patient appointments.
  • Maintains/supports all clerical and communication functions in the out-patient services.
  • Logging, maintaining and collection of statistics.
  • Other related duties as required.
