About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a Clerical Support Associate to join their Schulich Family Medicine Teaching Unit team. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 year full time equivalent recent clerical experience required.
  • Good keyboarding skills, with minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with tight deadlines, frequent interruptions and emergency situations.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting including medical residents and learners.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Applicants may be required to successfully complete full administrative testing, to include typing speed and MS Office.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma an asset.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • MEDITECH computer experience an asset.
  • Oscar PRO computer experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for clerical support including patient registration and discharge, maintenance of patient records, order entry and statistics.
  • Responsible for customer service including scheduling appointments, updating/creation of schedules, answering patient inquiries, telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors in a courteous manner.
  • Provides clerical support for program duties such as, room bookings, development of agenda/minutes for meetings, stocking/ordering of supplies, OTN etc.
  • Collects and maintains accurate statistical data as required/requested.
  • Communicates with other departments and service areas.
