Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current Wisconsin resident
  • At least one (1) year of Clerical or Secretarial work experience, ideally in the courts or related legal field.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to regularly make decisions of responsibility, involving evaluation of information. Decisions may require development or application of alternatives or precedents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-standard senior level specialized clerical work.
  • Prepare statutorily required documents.
  • Process CCAP case files, case and document generation.
  • Analyze case and customer status.
  • Make court record entries.
  • Schedule court hearings.
  • Advise users/customers of procedures.
  • Assist customers with procedural issues.
  • Create and clear warrants.
  • Add financial assessments and verify data accuracy, initiating corrections for errors.
  • Collect mail and records from other departments, agencies, and offices.
  • Maintain filing systems and order offsite files.
  • Respond to and fulfill public records requests within statutory deadlines.
  • Provide excellent and attentive customer service to the public.
  • Coordinate the daily workflow of courts, including analyzing and verifying court calendars or records for completeness.
  • Direct and assist members of the public and/or attorneys.
  • Evaluate court-related issues and provide information or initiate action.
  • Complete data entry into CCAP.
  • Accept and analyze paper and e-filed documents for legal sufficiency.
  • Scan and upload documents into CCAP pursuant to Supreme Court Rules.
  • Answer court telephone calls, process and distribute court mail.
  • Assist courts and/or administrators with special projects or reports, including training new staff and scanning documents.
  • Provide customer support and assistance to the public both in person and telephonically.
  • Other duties as assigned.
