About The Position

The Cleaning Attendant performs cleaning duties to ensure train cars and company facilities are clean and ready to provide an exceptional customer experience. This is a seasonal, hourly, non-exempt position in the Reservations division, based in Bryson City, North Carolina, paying $16–$18 per hour. Work hours vary according to the train schedule and are primarily in the late afternoons and evenings.

Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry 15 pounds.

Nice To Haves

A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Prior cleaning and/or janitorial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing walls, and cleaning windows.
Follow the Cleaning Manager’s special instructions for tasks in the daily workflow.
Clean train cars using the cleaning checklist and ensure high-quality work and facility inspections.
Work with the Train Cleaning Department team to achieve department goals and projections.
Know the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all products used.
Assist the Shift Supervisor in gathering supplies needed for the day’s work.
Maintain security while working independently in any area.
Help correct problems in areas needing additional attention as assigned by the Manager.
Keep Cleaning Department storage areas neat, clean, and adequately stocked with cleaning products.
Report problem areas encountered while performing assigned tasks.
Perform other duties as requested by the department manager and/or GSMR senior management.
