About The Position

The Cleaning Associate maintains a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, and windows, as well as maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store. The associate follows operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss prevention policies and may be cross-trained in other store areas to support business needs. The position is at Marshalls Store 1368 in Paramus, New Jersey.

Requirements

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
• Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changing directions or unexpected situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Follow the company's merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction guidelines.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Model customer-experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
