Dayshift/Weekend Cleaning Associate
About The Position
The Cleaning Associate maintains a clean, organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor scrubbers and buffers and performing dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The associate upholds operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards; maintains cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store; and is cross-trained to support multiple areas and business needs. The role also supports customer experience and a positive store culture, responds to Front End coverage needs, communicates with management and associates, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is based at TJ Maxx Store 1644 in Athens, Alabama. The starting pay range is $12.75 to $13.25 per hour, with actual starting pay based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements

- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
- Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
- Cross-train in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
- Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Role-model established customer experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
