About The Position

The Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, surfaces, glass, and windows. The associate also supports the store by working in other areas as needed, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, and by upholding customer-service, merchandising, safety, operational, and loss-prevention standards. This position is at TJ Maxx Store 1644 in Athens, Alabama. The starting pay range is $12.75–$13.25 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the floor scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
Cross-train and work in other store areas, such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Model established customer-experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
