About The Position

The Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness and hygiene of the facility’s infrastructure and common areas. This role focuses on janitorial duties, housekeeping, and deep cleaning of the facility structure (floors, walls, drains, ceilings) to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for all employees. You will execute tasks outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) to ensure the facility remains compliant with food safety standards and audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning roles (preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse setting).
  • Experience operating floor scrubbers, vacuums, and using standard mopping systems.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach overhead to clean walls and ceilings.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning of restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, offices, and throughout all warehouse areas (building interior & exterior) and common hallways. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning & sanitizing.
  • Operate walk-behind floor scrubbers and industrial vacuums to maintain clean manufacturing and warehouse floors.
  • Execute deep-cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis, including washing walls, ceilings, overhead pipes, vents, and drains to prevent dust and grime buildup.
  • Immediately attend to any incidents requiring cleaning & sanitation team support and actively participate in remediation efforts.
  • Empty trash bins and recycling containers throughout the facility and ensure waste is disposed of in the correct compactors or dumpsters.
  • Monitor and restock uniforms, PPE, restroom and breakroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper), and cleaning chemical supplies/stations.
  • Respond promptly to spills in production & non-production areas to prevent food safety risks as well as slip-and-fall hazards.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols (SOPs) while working in a food production environment.
  • Must be flexible to work different shifts. Working schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
