About The Position

The Cleaning Ambassador provides visible, street-level cleaning and visitor assistance in an assigned zone. The role involves working outdoors, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor, and helping make public spaces friendlier, safer, and cleaner. The position is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with weekend availability required, and requires a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license required.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to create basic reports.
Weekend availability required.

Experience is preferred, but not required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

Carry out a variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone.
Acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting or smile, and provide directions or city information.
Remove litter from streets, sidewalks, and alleys while moving through the zone with a rolling trash can containing supplies and tools.
Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, and other surfaces.
Pull weeds from tree wells, sidewalk cracks, and vacant lots.
Damp-wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces such as trash can lids and news boxes.
Watch for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report them to Safety Ambassadors via two-way radio.
Complete basic daily reports of tasks performed.
