About The Position
The Cleaner (Custodian) maintains the daily cleanliness and appearance of Radio City Music Hall. Working alongside Building Operations management, the role helps ensure public-facing areas are presented to a high standard and supports event production, building occupants, guests, partners, and team members. This is a full-time, union (32BJ) position requiring daytime weekday availability.
Requirements
- Previous experience with general custodial maintenance.
- Experience operating and maintaining floor scrubbers and performing mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and detail cleaning.
- Ability to operate and maintain all custodial equipment and materials used.
- Ability to handle heavy trash.
- Proficiency in using necessary equipment and following its safety requirements.
- Understanding of cleaning solutions and their application.
- Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, attention to detail, leadership qualities, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work daytime shifts on weekdays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift.
- Commitment to meeting and exceeding MSG standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the daily cleanliness of Radio City Music Hall and ensure public-facing areas maintain a pristine presentation.
- Complete daily task checklists.
- Perform special projects and duties as assigned, including carpet maintenance, detail cleaning, floor polishing, and operating specialized equipment.
- Assist with event-related setups to support the Event Production teams.
- Respond to daily service requests from building occupants.
- Evaluate and continually improve the Theatre’s cleanliness and overall appearance to support client satisfaction and guest experience.
- Respond to emergencies in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members, including adhering to on-site appearance and presentation guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
