About The Position
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the daily cleanliness and presentation of Radio City Music Hall. This full-time, union (32BJ) position works alongside Building Operations management to keep public-facing areas pristine and support a high-quality guest experience. The role includes completing daily task checklists, responding to building occupants’ service requests and emergencies, assisting Event Production teams with event-related setups, and carrying out special projects and other assigned duties. Work may include carpet maintenance, detail cleaning, floor polishing, and operating specialized custodial equipment. The Cleaner must follow appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
Requirements
- Previous experience with general custodial maintenance.
- Previous experience operating and maintaining floor scrubbers and performing mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and detail cleaning.
- Ability to operate and maintain all custodial equipment and materials used.
- Ability to handle heavy trash.
- Proficiency in using required equipment and following its safety requirements.
- Understanding of cleaning solutions and their application.
- Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, attention to detail, leadership qualities, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work daytime shifts on weekdays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to walk and stand during the entire shift.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the daily cleanliness and presentation of Radio City Music Hall, particularly in public-facing areas.
- Complete daily task checklists.
- Perform special projects and assigned duties, including carpet maintenance, detail cleaning, floor polishing, and use of specialized equipment.
- Assist Event Production teams with event-related setups.
- Respond to service requests from building occupants.
- Respond to emergencies in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Evaluate and continuously improve the Theatre’s cleanliness and overall appearance to support client satisfaction and guest experience.
- Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to on-site appearance and presentation guidelines.
- Work alongside Building Operations management to maintain facility standards.
