About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, glass, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing bathroom supplies; handling and disposing of trash; reporting defects; and completing periodic cleaning tasks. Snow may also need to be swept or shoveled from entrances and walkways as directed.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum office and public-area rugs; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other areas, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily, including glass surfaces, waste baskets, soap and toilet-paper dispensers, sills, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and burned-out lights, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from building entrance steps, walkways, and connecting sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
