About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and performing periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing. The position may also involve clearing snow from entrances and walkways as directed. Compensation is $12.75–$15.00; the offered amount may vary based on factors including location, experience, qualifications, job type, and applicable collective bargaining agreements, and will not be below minimum wage.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies.
• Clean bathroom surfaces and fixtures, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet-paper dispensers, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas; replace liners as specified.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, care for leather and wood surfaces, polish, and wash walls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
