About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility to support a positive member experience. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, shower rooms, waste areas, floors, windows, surfaces, fixtures, and equipment-adjacent areas; keeping storage rooms organized; and monitoring cleaning-supply inventory. The Cleaner may also assist with front desk operations, including using the Point of Sale system, and is expected to communicate with members and provide a high level of service.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
• Ability to think critically and proactively evaluate solutions to problems.
• Able to meet the physical demands of continual standing, walking, and reaching; occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching; occasional lifting of over 80 pounds; and occasional exposure to toxic chemicals.

• Custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and waste areas.
• Inspect and clean interior and exterior windows and window frames.
• Detail clean baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails, keeping surfaces free of handprints, scuff marks, and dust.
• Dust and clean air vents, TVs, signage, storage or glass doors, and light fixtures.
• Assist with front desk operations as needed, including use of Point of Sale.
• Follow cleaning lists and complete other assigned tasks.
• Remove or push down trash in all waste areas.
• Clean rubber and tile flooring throughout the gym floor and auxiliary rooms, including under gym equipment, using a vacuum, floor scrubber, and mop.
• Operate a floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
• Communicate with members and provide a high level of member service.
• Keep storage rooms clean and organized, arrange products properly on shelving racks, and discard loose boxes and trash.
• Notify club management when cleaning-supply inventory is low and needs replenishment.
