About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility and for helping ensure a positive member experience. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, showers, waste areas, floors, windows, fixtures, and other facility surfaces; organizing storage areas; monitoring cleaning-supply inventory; and assisting with front desk operations when needed. The position also involves communicating with members and providing a high level of service.

The posting describes the position as full-time, with a Wednesday–Friday afternoon schedule. Compensation is $11.00 per hour. Paid time off, paid parental leave, and health insurance are offered to eligible Team Players.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Have strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
• Ability to think critically and proactively evaluate solutions to problems.
• Ability to perform the listed physical demands, including occasionally lifting over 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and waste areas.
• Inspect and clean interior and exterior windows and window frames.
• Detail clean baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails; remove handprints, scuff marks, and dust from surfaces.
• Dust and clean air vents, TVs, signage, storage or glass doors, and light fixtures.
• Assist with front desk operations as needed, including use of the Point of Sale system.
• Follow cleaning lists and complete other assigned tasks.
• Remove trash from waste areas or push it down as directed.
• Clean rubber and tile flooring throughout the gym, auxiliary rooms, and areas under gym equipment using a vacuum, floor scrubber, and mop.
• Operate and use a floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
• Communicate with members and provide a high level of member service.
• Keep storage rooms clean and organized, arrange products on shelving racks, and discard loose boxes and trash.
• Notify club management when cleaning-supply inventory is low and needs replenishment.
