About The Position

The Cleaner performs cleaning and general upkeep of assigned areas at two buildings: the State Attorney's Office and the Public Defender's Office in Panama City, Florida. The schedule is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The job requires a state background check. Cleaners may perform a range of janitorial duties, including removing trash, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and other surfaces, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning eating areas. They must follow safety procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment, report irregularities or damage, follow contract-specific security protocols, wear company-issued shirts, and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

Requirements

Previous experience in a janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning role.
Good customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public.
Positive attitude and strong, reliable work ethic.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Punctuality and dependability.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs for the duration of the shift.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Empty trash and replace can liners.
Dust, wipe, and spot-clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures and floors, and restock paper and soap supplies.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Clean cafeterias or eating areas.
Perform other duties mandated by the scope of the contract.
Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Communicate irregularities and equipment or building damage.
Follow security protocols dictated by the contract.
Wear company-issued shirts and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.
