About The Position

Car City is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment. The role covers offices, restrooms, locker rooms, lunchrooms, breakrooms, hallways, shop areas, and other common spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, works independently, and maintains consistent cleaning and sanitation standards. The position averages 2–2.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, five days per week. The preferred schedule is early morning, 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 or 8:00 a.m.; an evening schedule of 5:00–7:00 p.m. is an alternative. The candidate must be flexible to cover when the other cleaner is absent and may be asked by management to work an extra hour per day. The final schedule will depend on business needs and candidate availability. The wage is $17.00 per hour. Employment is contingent on pre-employment screening, including a background check.

Requirements

Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or professional cleaning is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow instructions.
Knowledge of proper cleaning products, equipment, and sanitation procedures.
Ability to safely clean office equipment, furnishings, and other designated surfaces.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized environment.
Reliable, punctual, dependable, respectful, and a team player.
Availability to work part-time Monday through Friday and flexibility to cover when the other cleaner is absent.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift and facility.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to safely use cleaning tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Empty trash receptacles daily and replace liners as needed.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, lunchroom, and other designated spaces daily.
Restock restroom and locker room supplies as needed, using supplies in the designated storage area and maintaining its organization.
Wipe down and disinfect counters, tables, door handles, and other high-touch surfaces regularly.
Sweep, dust, mop, and vacuum floors and surfaces regularly.
Clean the exterior of the lunchroom coffee machine, microwave interiors, and other designated breakroom appliances weekly and as needed.
Dust furniture, shelves, ledges, windowsills, and other horizontal surfaces as needed.
Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when supplies or equipment need replenishment.
Safely operate cleaning equipment, including vacuums and floor-cleaning machines.
Follow company safety policies, procedures, and cleaning standards.
Perform additional cleaning and facility-related duties as assigned.
