About The Position

Janitors keep assigned areas, such as offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings, in clean and orderly condition. The Cleaner works successfully with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization; understands and follows verbal and written instructions; and explains how to complete tasks using basic communication skills. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No previous cleaning experience is required. Employees must comply with safety rules and company procedures, work as part of a team, maintain a clean work area, take direction, communicate professionally, and provide strong customer service. The role may include filling in during staff shortages and helping the shift lead complete punch-list items. Tasks include vacuuming, edging, dusting, cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms, window cleaning, emptying and transporting trash to the proper disposal area, and sweeping and mopping floors. Other duties may be assigned. Employees must follow Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures, participate in HSEQ training, and report potential hazards or compliance concerns. Employment may be contingent on successfully completing a background check and, where applicable, drug and/or alcohol screening in accordance with applicable laws and company requirements.

Requirements

No previous cleaning experience is required.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate using basic communication skills.
Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Frequently lift 0–25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Perform work assignments as part of a team and maintain a clean work area.
Follow company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Provide customer service and contribute to guest satisfaction.
Coordinate activities with other internal departments and participate in team meetings.
Vacuum and edge floors; dust surfaces.
Clean and stock restrooms and breakrooms.
Clean windows.
Empty trash and transport it to the proper disposal area.
Sweep and mop floors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Follow HSEQ policies and procedures, participate in HSEQ training, and report potential hazards or compliance concerns.
