About The Position
Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) Classroom Teachers lead creative, rigorous instruction and foster a compassionate, caring classroom environment that supports scholars and the school community. Teachers are responsible for helping scholars master the academic and social skills needed to succeed. They set ambitious achievement goals, hold scholars accountable, plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess mastery, track progress, and intervene or adjust instruction as needed. PLA’s model emphasizes standards- and data-driven instruction, differentiated learning, small-group instruction, and one-to-one intervention.
Requirements
- Passion for working with students and families in underserved communities.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, with appropriate endorsements if applicable.
- Valid State Teacher License or enrollment in a credentialing program.
- Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment.
- Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction.
