The Classroom Teacher is responsible for managing the classroom environment, including scheduling and conducting home visits, parent-teacher conferences, child developmental screenings, and assessments. The teacher will ensure timely online entry of classroom observations and documentation, and use assessment results to create individualized plans with parents to address each child's needs and track progress. This role involves planning and implementing indoor and outdoor learning environments and experiences using the Creative Curriculum System, UMOS School Readiness Plan, and the Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework. The teacher will also implement daily activity plans, field trips, and transition activities, and maintain required documentation for children and classroom activities. Communication with families regarding developmental progress is key, utilizing the PFCE Framework. The role includes maintaining and documenting the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), implementing health and safety policies, and using positive guidance strategies. Direct sight and sound supervision of all children is required at all times. Collaboration with other staff for child arrival/departure, environment setup/cleanup, and communication with bus staff is necessary. The teacher will attend all staff meetings, trainings, and center activities, and may assist in training other teaching staff. Other duties as assigned.
