The Classroom Teacher is responsible for managing the classroom environment, including scheduling and conducting home visits, parent-teacher conferences, and child developmental screenings. The role involves tracking child progress, creating individualized plans with parents, and implementing learning experiences based on established frameworks like the Creative Curriculum System, UMOS School Readiness Plan, and Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework. The teacher will also manage daily activity plans, field trips, and transition activities, ensuring all documentation is submitted in a timely manner. A key aspect of the role is implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for children with disabilities, integrating their goals into lesson plans and tracking progress. The teacher must maintain comprehensive documentation on children and classroom activities, communicate regularly with families using the PFCE Framework, and manage the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) within the classroom, including participating in family-style meals. Adherence to health and safety policies, including proper storage of materials, conducting checklists, daily observations, diapering, injury prevention, and sanitization, is crucial. The position also involves participating in the collection of non-federal shares (in-kind), using positive guidance strategies for behavior management, and ensuring direct sight and sound supervision of all children at all times. Collaboration with other staff for center operations, including arrival/departure of children, environment setup/cleanup, and communication with bus staff, is expected. The teacher will attend all staff meetings, trainings, and center activities as assigned and may be asked to assist in training other teaching staff. Other duties as assigned.
