The teacher must recognize and address student differences in needs, abilities, and interests during instruction, clearly communicating learning objectives, purposes, and their relevance to students' lives. Instruction should connect to previous learning and demonstrate sound subject matter knowledge. Regular checks for student understanding, provision of adequate practice experiences, and careful monitoring of guided practice with immediate feedback are crucial. The teacher should apply reinforcement theory, maintain a positive classroom climate, incorporate student interests, praise effort, ensure student success, schedule practice for retention, allow students to verbalize critical attributes of learning, and collect data for evaluation and future planning.
