About The Position

This position is for a Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Ola High. The teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lesson plans and instructional materials to facilitate active learning. This role requires developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with established guidelines. The teacher will instruct and monitor students, utilize relevant technology for differentiated instruction, and manage student behavior effectively. Providing meaningful feedback on student work, observing and assessing student progress, and maintaining accurate records are key responsibilities. The role also involves assigning and grading student work, and participating in various meetings. The position is classified as Exempt and follows a Teacher Salary Schedule for 190 work days.

Requirements

  • Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet the district's professional qualifications.
  • Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.

  • Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Ability to be present at the physical worksite.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Instruct and monitor students.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines.
  • Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
  • Observe and assess student performance and development.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
  • Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
