Aide - Classroom
About The Position
The Classroom Aide supports the instructional program by assisting teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and school staff, the aide helps facilitate daily classroom activities, reinforce instruction, and provide individualized support to students as needed. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, flexible, and passionate about working with children. The role supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development while fostering a positive classroom environment rooted in Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education at St. Joseph Catholic School.

- Candidates receiving an employment offer must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, which may include a criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and other screenings deemed necessary.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- Experience in a classroom environment or familiarity with child development is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities, classroom assignments, and learning exercises.
- Provide individual and small-group assistance to students to reinforce lessons and support learning needs.
- Help maintain a positive, organized, and structured classroom environment.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
- Support students in developing appropriate social skills, positive behavior, and independence.
- Prepare classroom materials, instructional resources, and learning activities as directed by the teacher.
- Provide additional support to students who may need assistance with classroom routines, assignments, or daily activities.
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation, and cleanup.
- Communicate observations and student needs to the classroom teacher and appropriate school personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and classroom matters.
- Follow school policies, procedures, and established safety guidelines.
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and Catholic identity of St. Joseph Catholic School.
