About The Position
American Welding and Gas (AWG), a provider of industrial, medical, specialty, and beverage gases, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join its team in Huntsville, Alabama. The position involves delivering and handling compressed gas and liquid cylinders, operating a vehicle and warehouse equipment, and completing related paperwork while following safety procedures and applicable regulations. AWG describes its work environment as safety-focused and offers modern trucks, a Monday-through-Friday schedule, and home every night.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Class A CDL required, with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements or the ability to obtain both endorsements.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders, frequently lift 50–75 pounds, and maneuver cylinders weighing over 100 pounds by rolling them or using a cart.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, back assessment, and company-administered road test.
- Ability to communicate with customers.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Move, load, and unload empty and full cylinders safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and complete paperwork accurately, including shipping papers and delivery tickets.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Transfer cylinders and cylinder bundles onto pallets for storage or delivery.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials.
- Load and unload cylinder transfers onto trucks and trailers according to provided load lists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
