Class A Driver - Bonuses Available
About The Position
Mammoth Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Class A Driver to support local routes in Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, California. The position is based in Mammoth, with occasional work out of the Bishop location; travel for those assignments is compensated. This is stable, year-round work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The start time is 5:30 a.m., and shifts last until the route is complete, typically 8–10 hours per day. Starting pay is $28.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience. The driver operates a truck and flatbed trailer or garbage truck on assigned routes to deliver toilets or collect solid waste. The role includes following route sheets and dispatcher assignments, performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and providing courteous customer service. The work is physically demanding and may involve loading and unloading without assistance. Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, fumes, vibration, and moderate noise.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- At least 1 year of experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a truck and flatbed trailer or garbage truck on specified routes to deliver toilets or collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Perform physically demanding loading and unloading, sometimes without helpers.
- Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
