About The Position

As a Fleet Driver at CarMax, you transport vehicles between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs, supporting inventory flow and customer satisfaction. You are responsible for delivering vehicles on time and in top condition while representing CarMax professionally. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, integrity, efficient operations, and keeping the truck and trailer clean and well maintained. Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by a state.
• At least 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience; military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience is considered.
• Meet DOT and FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and operate winches during loading.
• Proficiency operating a 10-speed transmission.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years and meeting CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Current CarMax associates must have a valid Class A CDL, at least 2 years of CMV driving experience at CarMax (non-Class A CMV experience is acceptable), and no preventable safety incidents in the past 2 years, as validated by the Safety & Compliance Team.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs.
• Deliver vehicles accurately and on time to maintain inventory flow and customer satisfaction.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently, and keep the truck and trailer clean and well maintained.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Represent CarMax professionally when interacting with vendors, store associates, and the public.
• Follow company and federal safety regulations to ensure compliance and minimize risk.

Benefits

• Paid sick time: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates can accrue up to 48 hours per year.
• Paid vacation: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on continuous service.
• Paid holidays: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 8 hours of pay for each of 6 scheduled holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday.
• Holiday premium pay may be available when eligible associates work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holiday, subject to manager approval.
