About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Leesburg, Florida for local, home-daily shuttle work. The role is solo, with no-touch freight that involves live loading and unloading. Drivers use a day-cab tractor and 48- or 53-foot flatbed trailers; six months of flatbed experience is required. Trucks are described as well-maintained and safe, 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance support and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The position pays $25.50 per hour, with an average weekly pay of $1,020 and 38–40 hours per week. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and a 5:00 a.m. start time.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Have six months of flatbed experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
