About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Regional No Touch Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Jacksonville, Florida. The driver works as an extra-board driver, typically spending one to two weeks out at a time, although some weeks may involve local work. The driver must be able to fly; hotel and rental car are provided. Routes are solo deliveries to Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Virginia. The position hauls construction materials in a Conestoga flatbed trailer. Freight is no-touch, but load securement is required using straps, chains, and binders. Ryder provides training on the equipment needed for the role. Drivers operate trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The tractor type includes a super sleeper, refrigerator, and inverter. Pay is weekly, with earnings of $1,700 or more per week, a $2,500 sign-on bonus paid half at 30 days and half at 90 days, and an annual $1,200 safety bonus paid in November. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Be able to fly.
Complete additional screening if required, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
Deliver freight solo to destinations in TN, NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, FL, and VA.
Secure loads using straps, chains, and binders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
