About The Position

Imperial Trading Co., LLC is seeking motivated and skilled Class A CDL Route Drivers to work from the New Orleans, Louisiana area. The company has been in business for more than 100 years and is one of the nation’s largest food distributors. Drivers are responsible for safe vehicle operation, daily vehicle and equipment inspections, and accurate, efficient product deliveries. The role involves regular climbing, standing, walking, reaching, and lifting.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card.
• At least one year of CDL driving experience; six months may be considered.
• Must pass the road test.
• Must have a driving record acceptable under DOT and company insurance requirements.
• Must comply with DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse provisions.

Responsibilities

• Remain vigilant for unexpected road conditions, distracted drivers, and motorists who may not understand how commercial vehicles operate; drive safely in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment before departure and upon return from the route, and immediately report defects to management.
• Deliver products accurately and efficiently.
