Class A CDL Driver, Hazmat
About The Position
This is a regional over-the-road route where you will be responsible for safely delivering helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers. You will load and unload cylinders, return empties to the fill plant, perform daily vehicle safety inspections, complete delivery paperwork, and maintain DOT compliance. The role involves building relationships with regular customers and helping manage their inventory needs. The territory is divided into 4 zones, with one zone covered per week, allowing you to focus on a familiar area. You will stay in a hotel during the week, not a sleeper berth, and will be home every weekend.
Requirements
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
- Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
- Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
- Outdoor work in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees
- Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
