Class A CDL Driver, Hazmat
About The Position
This is a regional over-the-road route for a Class A CDL Driver with Hazmat endorsement, delivering helium compressed gas cylinders to established, repeat customers. Drivers will run a dedicated territory, covering one of four zones per week, and will be home every weekend. The role involves loading and unloading cylinders, performing daily vehicle safety inspections, completing delivery paperwork, maintaining DOT compliance, and building relationships with customers. The work environment includes outdoor conditions with varying temperatures and requires the ability to lift significant weight and detect leaking gas.
Requirements
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers
- Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant
- Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance
- Build relationships with regular customers and help manage their inventory needs
